With a comprehensive collection of masterpieces on display from notably famous artists, one can reasonably expect to see a lot of religious pieces. If you’re expecting grand artwork or concepts outside that category, you may be slightly disappointed.
If you’re into church art/paintings, busts of the Roman emperors, and a bit more variety, then the Uffizi Gallery is worth checking out. Wandering around the 16th-century building, we enjoyed exploring everything from the halls to the individual rooms covered in artwork. It’s really no surprise to see why it’s the 25th most visited art museum globally; the collection is lovely.
Like everything else in Italy, the Uffizi Gallery gets slammed with visitors, to the tune of 2 million a year. Needless to say, unless you want to wait for five hours, go ahead and buy tickets early. Even with online tickets, our waiting time was still quite a bit, but reasonable for the volume of people.
